#1 Moisturise really well
Spend a little extra time moisturising. ‘If my skin is feeling dry, I mix a bit of oil into my moisturiser,’ says Laura. TRY: The Body Shop Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalising Cream, $45.95.
#2 Use a primer
Did you know Laura created the industry’s first primer in 1995? It locks in moisture and makes you look dewier for longer. Laura adds: ‘I always massage primer into the skin the same way I do moisturiser.’ TRY: Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Radiance, $50.
#3 Don’t underestimate concealer
Choose a creamy solid concealer that’s slightly lighter than your skin. ‘Most women have dark circles at the inner corners of their eyes and redness on the outer,’ says Laura. Choose a peachy tint to counteract shadows.
TRY: Laura Mercier Secret Concealer, $39.
#4 Don’t always cover up
‘A lot of women only need a tinted moisturiser,’ advises Laura. It’s better to go darker than lighter as this
will warm up
your skin.
TRY: Nude By Nature Sheer Glow BB Cream in Soft Sand, $29.95.
#5 Flawless foundation
A thin coat is best, explains Laura, and for that you need a damp make-up sponge. One of the most common mistakes is applying too much foundation in the centre of your face. It’ll look heavy and will settle into fine lines around your nose and mouth. TRY: Napoleon Perdis Pro Makeup Blending Sponge, $12, and Napoleon Perdis Personal Trainer Serum Foundation, $69.
