The Las Vegas security guard, who approached Stephen Paddock's room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, distracting the gunman and potentially saving lives, has now mysteriously vanished.
With a gunshot wound to his leg, Jesus Campos, helped point officers to the gunman's location and stayed behind to evacuate hotel guests, and has since been hailed a hero.
Now, less than two weeks since the October 1 massacre, which left 58 people dead and about 500 injured, Campos has completely vanished from the public eye.
David Hickey, president of the Security, Police, and Fire Professionals of America union, said it had been four days since he last saw Campos.
'We have had no contact with him...Clearly, somebody know where he is,' Hickey said.
Hickey revealed he was with Campos on Thursday, coordinating a series of interviews that the guard was scheduled to give about the attack. They included appearances on Fox, as well as news shows on CNN, CBS, ABC and NBC.
Little is known about Campos, with few pictures to emerge of the security guard and no apparent online footprint surfacing to provide details about one of the central figures in the mass shooting.
