A devastated Kylie Minogue has confirmed news that fans feared, but hoped wouldn't come true. She's just cancelled her exclusive Sydney Red Room performance this week.
A spokesperson for radio network Nova confirmed to New Idea, 'We have been advised by Liberator/BMG that Kylie Minogue will be unable to perform this Thursday, in Nova’s Red Room, due to a throat infection.
'Although we know our winners and fans will be disappointed that they won’t be able to experience this special Nova’s Red Room, Kylie’s health is the main priority and we wish her well with her recovery.'
Kylie herself told fans via Twitter that she was 'so sorry' about the cancellation.
'Hey #NovasRedRoom fans. I’m so sorry to have to let you know that I can’t make the Red Room show this week. I have a throat infection and have been advised by my Doctor to rest. I have tried my best to get better in time but alas, Mother Nature needs some time to get me better. I’m so sorry 😢. I’ll reschedule as soon as I can and I promise we’ll make up for it. Xx'
Fans had feared the worst yesterday, amid news she had cancelled all interviews in order to preserve her voice.
The Red Room gig had competition winners and ultra fans in a frenzy of excitement, with the cancellation leaving many devastated.
Kylie’s visit to Australia was to promote the forthcoming release of her latest album ‘Golden’, out April 6 through Liberator/BMG.
