Kim Kardashian-West has opened up about her skin condition and why she refuses to hide it anymore.
Opening up about having psoriasis on her app KimKardashianWest.com, the 35-year-old reality star says she has been 'pretty open with her struggles'.
'I have that one patch on my right leg that is the most visible,' she wrote, adding, ‘I don't even really try to cover it that much anymore. Sometimes I just feel like it's my big flaw and everyone knows about it, so why cover it?’
Psoriasis is an inflammatory disease of the skin, something she inherited from Momager Kris Jenner.
While there isn’t a cure, Kardashian-West says she manages the condition through her diet and by having cortisone shots and applying cream.
'Everyone with psoriasis has different symptoms; sometimes the rashes are itchy, sometimes they're flaky. Mine flares up from time to time for different reasons,' she explained.
'I'm always hoping for a cure, of course, but in the meantime, I'm learning to just accept it as part of who I am.'
Before a photo-shoot, Kardashian-West says she is upfront with the team she is working with.
'I have psoriasis, there is nothing I can do about it so there is no reason why I should feel uncomfortable,' she said.
'So to make myself feel better I lay out all my insecurities before we start a shoot in the hope that no one will be focused on that.
