Kardashian West seems to share these concerns, telling her 144 million Instagram followers:
"I heard about Kevin Keith's case last year, and the more I learn about it, the more I believe the world needs to hear what happened to him!"
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians queen revealed Keith came within days of his execution, before then-Governor Ted Strickland reduced his sentence.
"I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin Keith through a video visit and was so impressed with the amazing programmes he created in prison to help others inside better themselves," she said.
"So much evidence has been uncovered proving Kevin's innocence. I hope justice is served soon and he is released."
Last year, the wife of Kanye West met with US President Donald Trump in the Oval Office to petition for the pardon and release of 63-year-old great-grandmother Alice Marie Johnson, who had been imprisoned for a low level drug offence since 1997.
Trump commuted Johnson's life sentence and granted clemency one week later, the sixth time he has done so since taking office, Harper's Bazaar notes.
Attorney and non-profit founder Van Jones told Vogue that Kardashian's appeal for Johnson's release was "the most effective, emotionally intelligent intervention I've ever seen in American politics", Yahoo News reports.
