The annual Kim Kardashian Christmas card came out a few days ago and we're still pondering it. Yes, it's beautiful. Yes, her love for her husband and their little ones is transparent, but there's one teeny, tiny thing we're just aren't sure about.
First, some clarifying details. I am a Kardashian fan. Kind of. And accordingly, the annual Kardashian Christmas card is something I look forward to all year. Yes okay - I am that person.
To be honest, I have never seen the reality TV show that made them the household names they are today. Ever.
And given that it took me a very long time to work out which Kardash was which, but I am well across that now. I've even met a couple of them. True story! And I have to admit I kind of enjoy the family on the whole. Sorry. But there it is.
But back to the end of year shenanigans that are the Kardashian / Jenner Christmas cards.
This year the broader fam sent one without Kendall! Oh the scandal. Kendall herself referred to it as 'awkward' but the the truth was she just wasn't available on the day.
And then there was this ... the mini card that came from Kimmy K and hubby Kanye, showcasing the couple and their darling kidlets North West, Saint West and Chicago West.
It was adorable - straight up. But on second glance it was very VERY clear five-year-old North was wearing lipstick. Very bold red lipstick in fact. And I just don't know what to make of that.
Did she look cute as a button? Damn straight she did. Did she want to wear lipstick? Probably yes. Is it any of my (or anyone else's business) not really no.
So I could end this story here and heck, maybe I should. But little girls wearing full makeup does make me a smidge uneasy. I have to say it. I do. And the feeling isn't exclusive to me either. A swag of Kim's fans hopped online to say they were unsure about a five year old sporting a full red lip and they gave reasons why too. They were wide and varied but mainly focused on the idea that kids should be kids and that red lipstick was kind of a grown-up thing. At least in regular world.
A plucky Kim (who has not lived in regular world for many a year - if ever) responded saying the lip colour was 100 per cent North's idea and I believe it too.
Still, Kim then did take the opportunity to say it was a lip product she was releasing soon too. Make of that what you will.
Either way, this is a Christmas card that's full of love and what more could you want and this time of year. Nothing. Except maybe that lip shade ... it is undoubtedly epic so North - when you're ready, let us know the details. We fancy a bit of that for ourselves. And you're five okay.
So maybe wipe it off now and get outside and play for a bit. Your time will come. Promise.
