An article written by Richard Eden back in 2012 reveals that Her Majesty once told The Duchess of Sussex that she must show deference to the ‘blood princesses’ such as Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

“Mandrake (an old diary column for the publication) hears that the Queen has updated the Order of Precedence in the Royal Household to take into account the Duke of Cambridge’s wife,” Eden said in the column published in The Daily Telegraph.
“The new rules of Court make it clear that the former Kate Middleton, when she is not accompanied by Prince William, must curtsy to the ‘blood princesses’, the Princess Royal, Princess Alexandra, and the daughters of the Duke of York, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
“When William is with her, Kate does not need to bend the knee to either of them, but she must curtsy to the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.
“Despite being married to the Queen’s son, the Countess of Wessex will, however, have to curtsy to Kate, even when William is not present.”
People are speculating Kate is gearing up to become Queen.

The news comes days after Express.co.uk ran a report saying the mother-of-three being granted one of the Queen’s patronages is proof Kate is gearing up to become The Queen.
In a statement, Buckingham Palace revealed: “Her Majesty The Queen has passed the patronage to The Duchess having held the role for over 65 years.
Kate is reportedly gearing up to be The Queen.

It continued: “Her Majesty took the patronage over from Queen Mary in 1953.
“To mark her new patronage, The Duchess is visiting Peterley Manor Farm where she will join families and children supported by the Family Action taking part in Christmas activities.”
Historically there were two Queens who held the patronage - Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth II.
