Rumours that Kate Middleton will soon be announcing a fourth baby have been running rife for weeks, and now one of the UK’s most respected royal commentators has thrown fuel on the fire – even alleging an unusual motivation for the couple wanting another baby.

Top royal expert Phil Dampier told The Sun newspaper it 'wouldn't surprise him' if Kate and William chose to have a fourth child, as it would remove the Duchess from the 'forefront of royal duties'.
Kate and William, who already have Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four, and Prince Louis, fifteen months, might seem to have their hands full, but it seems that Kate loves motherhood.
'Not only does [Kate] love family life in Norfolk, to be honest it gives her an excuse to not be at the forefront of royal duties for a bit longer, which I don't think she enjoys,’ Dampier confirms.
'I think Kate's been interacting with the public and doing very well recently, but from what I'm told she'd rather be at home with the children.'
Word is that the couple would love another girl to balance out their family, but Phil says that future family plans are 'very much down' to Kate, rather than husband Prince William.
The Duchess comes from a family of three herself, with siblings Pippa, 35, and a brother James, 32 , so four kids would be a break from tradition for her. William, of course, only has one brother, Prince Harry.
But Kate is friends with Princess Mary of Denmark, who has two girls and two boys - Christian, 13, Isabella, 12, and twins Josephine and Vincent, eight.
