They’re two of the most famous women in the world, next-door neighbours and future sisters-in-law – but do Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle actually get along?
According to sources speaking to E! News, they certainly do. Apparently, their first meeting, which happened back in January last year, “went very well” and “Kate was delighted to finally get to meet the woman that had Harry smiling so much.”
They added that the Duchess of Cambridge made it clear early on “that should Meghan ever need something, or just want to chat, she shouldn’t hesitate to get in touch.”
As E! points out, their friendship makes perfect sense: both women enter the royal family as outsiders, having no aristocratic connections prior to their marriages, plus they’re close in age and both love Prince Harry (who was often referred to as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third wheel, he hung out with them so much).
Prince Harry and Ms Markle touched on their relationship with Prince William and Kate Middleton in their BBC engagement interview, with Prince Harry revealing, “Catherine has been absolutely amazing, as has William as well, you know, fantastic support.”
“She’s been wonderful,” Meghan added.
