She had the world at her feet when she shot to stardom in the movie Sirens, and became a mainstay on Aussie TV and gossip columns with her party girl antics. But the woman formerly known as Kate Fischer chose to turn her back on fame and stardom - only to have unwelcome attention return this week after the publication of intrusive, body-shaming photos.
Now the onetime actress - who these days goes by the name Tziporah Malkah, and is happily living a low-key, religious life - has broken her self-imposed silence to set the record straight about the spiteful intrusion.
'When it comes to me, mine is the voice that you can trust,' she says of the tales that have this week been spun about her life. '"Kate got fat! Kate got fat! Kate got fat!" is older news than Moses. And anyway that's not my legal name anymore.'
Speaking of the interest she has received from concerned fans, the former star offered a simple, 'Thanks guys for checking in with me,' adding of her long silence, 'I'm no longer desirous of being a public figure.'
