Kim Kardashian’s account of her night of terror in Paris at the hands of jewel thieves 'doesn’t add up,' according to a shock report published in the US today.
The reality TV star has returned to LA and withdrawn from the spotlight since the terrifying ordeal in which she was tied up and robbed at gunpoint for around $10 million in jewels.
However, Kim’s version of the events as to how the robbery took place has left some sceptics with more questions than answers.
‘From start to finish Kim’s account is full of points that don’t make any sense,' one source told Star magazine. 'Why wouldn’t she have locked up her millions of dollars’ worth of jewellery in the hotel safe? Why didn’t we hear about any signs of a struggle in her apartment?
‘And how did she get out of her plastic restraints by herself without a knife, which is incredibly hard to do - not to mention that she didn’t have any reported bruising or injuries.’
Kim was tied up and gagged then put in the bath by the intruders, who then made away with her engagement ring and a jewellery box. She then wriggled free of her ties and made her way to the roof of the Hotel De Pourtales where she called for help. After giving a statement to police, she made a quick exit back to the US.
The insider added: ‘There’s been talk of financial struggle ever since [husband] Kanye [West] tweeted in February that he was $53 million in debt – so there’s a reason people have been whispering that the robbery could have been faked.
‘But maybe Kim isn’t telling the full truth not because she wasn’t robbed, but because the details are even more humiliating than she’s let on.’
Despite the innuendo, sources close to the police investigation say there is little doubt the robbery was genuine, and Kim herself has no tolerance for those who outrageously suggest otherwise - she's suing a US website for saying the robbery was fake.
