Superstar Jodie Foster’s stalker John Hinckley Jr is set to be released after 35 years in a psych ward for the attempted assassination of President Ronald Reagan.
It was only a year after the failed 1981 assassination attempt – which he launched in a sick bid to impress the actress - that Hinkley penned ‘Bloody Love,’ a terrifying poem to Jodie, seemingly threatening her life and announcing his deranged love for her.
According to Radar Online the poem reads: ‘Jodie is my bloody love…a virgin till she dies…I am still her favourite fan…the one with bloody eyes. Look here at my bloody knife…I think I’ll stab you first…Deep into your bloody heart…It should quench my thirst.’
With Hinckley already judged insane, the release has come as a shock to many in Hollywood - and is especially unsettling for Jodie who was only a teenager at the time of the crime. Expert, Professor Dr. Quentin R. Regestein said then of the poem, ‘I would take this as a very serious warning. Based solely on the poem, I would feel it’s premature to consider the release of this person. He is insane.’
