Channel Nine news presenter Peter shared with Stellar magazine about the terrifying ordeal, explaining how he scheduled an appointment with his GP last September after feeling ‘abysmally’ run-down, and noticing a lump on his body that he had assumed was an ingrown hair.
However, the couple – who share daughters Allegra, 11, and Giselle, 9 – were given the devastating news that Peter may have lymphoma, a cancer of the blood.
‘I didn’t sleep very well...I was thinking worst-case scenario,’ he told the magazine.
‘I had never been in that situation myself. I have reported on it. I have sat in front of families with kids dying.’
Thankfully, the diagnosis turned out to be a ‘particularly vicious virus’.
This isn’t the first time Peter’s faced a health scare.
Back in 2015 he shared a picture from his hospital bed after undergoing spinal surgery.
