New reality show The Real Dirty Dancing brings out all the passion and excitement of the classic Patrick Swayze movie. And the Aussie stars involved in the show are making some pretty amazing discoveries as they revisit all the locations from the film, in preparation for a big dance off that will see them recreate numbers from the film.
Jamie Durie and Jessica Rowe have been good friends for a number of years, but on The Real Dirty Dancing, it comes to light that Jamie used to have a crush on the presenter.

“I remember one New Year’s Eve we went up to palm beach and had a kissing competition,” said Jess, recalling a summer holiday in her youth.
“I would have put my hand up,” Jamie cheekily adds before Anna Heinrich reveals that he had a crush on her many years ago.
“I did,” he admits. “She came to my birthday.”
And, much to Jamie’s dismay, he discovered that she was actually single back then at his birthday.
The Real Dirty Dancing has certainly been an eye-opener for TV favourite Jamie.
During a diner challenge, Jamie by chance happens to serve an elderly woman, Phyllis, who was a back-up dancer in the final scene of Dirty Dancing.
“I was dancing with the mayor of Blacksburg at the time,” she recalls fondly.
After meeting a real-life dancer from the film, Jamie does what any of them would have done and shares a dance with her outside the diner.
“I think by far the highlight of my day was meeting Phyllis,” says Jamie. “She is an example of just how powerful this film is.”
