Is Elena the winner of Masterchef 2016? It appears so according to new reports.
Rumours are running rife after judge George Colombaris was heard asking the talented Queenslander, ‘What would the world be without you in this competition?’ during the show’s quarter final round, first reported by australianetworknews.com.
Elena Duggan will battle it out in tonight’s grand final against fellow Queenslander Matt Sinclair, as the pair aim to recreate what is being hyped as British chef Heston Blumenthal’s toughest culinary masterpiece.
The subtle hint comes after reports last week that pinned Matt as this year’s champion.
Fans of the show with a keen eye for detail noticed Matt shared an image on social media at the Regional Flavours Launch in Brisbane earlier this month.
He was the only contestant from the current season in attendance.
Meanwhile, there’s great news for fans of Harry Foster, who was eliminated during last night’s semi final round.
According to The Mercury newspaper, the popular 22-year-old contestant has landed a job ‘in a hosting position’ at Tasmania’s Pumphouse Point Wilderness Retreat at Lake St Clair.
‘I’ve always loved Tasmania,’ he told the publication.
‘I’d seen a lot of media around Pumphouse Point and thought it looked incredible, so I reached out to them and luckily there was a position available.’
