According to an article by the Daily Telegraph, industry insiders have said the duo may lose their breakfast slot and be moved to the drive slot when Hamish and Andy’s contract expires.
The latest figures reveal that Rove and Sam have just 3.3 per cent of the audience share, whilst Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson at KIIS FM lead with 9.9 per cent. Nova FM’s Fitzy and Wippa have 7.4 per cent.
Kylie Sandilands predicted the demise of the Rove and Sam show in January saying 'Rove will stay for at least a year. They will blame that poor girl [Sam] for the ratings so they will replace her'.
According to the same article in the Daily Telegraph, executives have Em Rusciano and Osher Gunsberg in mind to replace Rove and Sam.
Comedian Em Rusciano is well experienced in radio presenting and also has a big social media following. She hosted Perth’s 92.9 breakfast show for four years and has since moved to Southern Cross Austereo. She co-hosted Mamaia Today in 2012 with Dave Thornton.
Osher Gunsberg, famous for hosting the Bachelor and Bachelorette TV series, also has a history in radio presenting. He signed a deal with Southern Cross Austereo in 2015, where he hosted HIT 105’s breakfast slot with Abby Coleman and Stav Davidson.
