Hugh Jackman has performed for mourners in attendance at the funeral of his mother-in-law, bringing many to tears.
The actor brought Peter Allen’s song Quiet Please, There’s a Lady On Stage to yesterday’s proceedings, which saw Hugh’s wife Deborah-Lee Furness say goodbye to her mother Fay Duncan.
Hugh had performed the song during his Boy From Oz tour earlier this year, and also at the funeral of Joan Rivers in 2014.
The funeral drew hundreds of mourners to Toorak in Melbourne to celebrate Fay, who passed away at the age of 81 after suffering from an unknown illness.
Guests included Kate Cebrano, who is also believed to have performed a rendition of Amazing Grace, Bert and Patti Newton, Tottie Goldsmith, Eric Bana, Kerry Armstrong and Sigrid Thornton.
Hugh’s first tribute came on Instagram yesterday where he paid his respects for Fay via an emotional post.
Beloved Fay was an Order Of Australia recipient.
