The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hired their Spanish nanny Maria Borrallo shortly after George, their first child, was born in 2013.
Louise Heren, the author of Nany in a Book, spent a year researching what goes into being a nanny within the royal family and has revealed that the children of Kate and Will lead a remarkably 'normal' lives.
Heren told the Mirror Online that Ms Borrallo - who trained at the famous Norland College in Bath - would have a “very nurturing and loving" approach when it came to raising George, 5, Charlotte, 3 and Louis, nine months, but she would also show “a little bit of discipline”.
Heren also mentioned to the publication that Kate remains, "hands on" when it comes to raising her children, and has formed a "very close” relationship with Maria.
Ms Heren added: “Given what we have seen of Catherine when she is out in public, she's very hands on.
"I imagine her relationship with Maria is very close and they collaborate greatly on the care of the children.
"I've spoken to nannies who have worked with other royal families and life is pretty normal.”
The royal author outlined the routine that Borrallo would enforce upon George and Charlotte: "You get up, have breakfast, you go to school and you wear your school uniform whether you like it or not.
"It would be quite like the average British school children."
