No-one could accuse Lukas Radovich of resting on his acting laurels.
The 23-year-old performer, who plays Summer Bay teen Ryder, jumped at the chance to tackle a very different role.
Lukas landed a starring role in the popular Shakespeare By Night – a one-night-only production of selected Shakespeare scenes, presented by Red Line Underground and Poor Tom’s Gin, at Sydney’s Old Fitz Theatre.
For Lukas, who played Orlando alongside former Home and Away star Anneliese Apps as Rosalind in scenes from As You Like It, it was an incredible opportunity.
“I’d heard great things about the last production,” he says. “I love performing Shakespeare, so it was a no-brainer for me to apply. The rest of the cast were brilliant and I couldn’t wait to see what they came up with.”
And Lukas admits to experiencing a few jitters.
“I definitely had nerves about performing in front of a live audience,” he says. “I got so used to it while in drama school at WAAPA, but it was some time since I’d done it. I love the thrill of live performance and had been craving it. I’ve also always wanted to perform at the Old Fitz Theatre, so that was cool too.”
