Shannen Doherty has bravely documented a cancer update via Instagram, stating her most recent checkups were ‘mixed.’
‘One tumor marker test came back good,’ she told her 1 million followers. ‘Other…elevated.’
Friends close to the star revealed to The National Enquirer that Shannen was terrified.
‘Shannen thought the worst was behind her, but these test results have really thrown her off course,’ a source told the publication. ‘She fears that the cancer is returning and, of course, she’s terrified.’
According to friends, the actress has reached out to friends and family for support.
‘Shannen has told them that there’s nothing to worry about,’ a friend said. ‘But she also know that this could lead to the end at that they should be prepared for the worst.’
Thankfully, the 47-year-old actress – who announced last year she was in remission following a single mastectomy, eight rounds of chemo and radiation – reassured fans she was OK in a video message.
‘My PET scan is all clear, so I am still in remission,’ she stated, adding that the elevated marker was not specific to her cancer.
Thankfully, the former Heathers star has drawn strength from her husband of six years – Kurt Iswarienko – even saying: ‘It’s made my marriage a thousand times stronger.’
