What is Gwyneth Paltrow's diet and weight loss plan?
As for what she eats, in 2012, struggling with fatigue, Gwyneth took herself to the doctor where he diagnosed her as being stressed, low in Vitamin D and anaemic.
"He prescribed an elimination diet to clear out her system and help her body heal. But this meant no coffee, no alcohol, no dairy, no eggs, no sugar, no shellfish, no deep-water fish, no wheat, no meat, no soy, nothing processed at all!" says the official site of It's All Good (see below), which was food lover Gwyneth's response to all these rules.
In recent years, though, it seems that she has become more balanced in her diet, eating a wider variety of foods than her previous near-vegan regime. "I don’t believe you should rule out any kind of food; I believe in enjoying life. I’m not a good dieter and since I’ve had kids, I have loosened up a lot," she has said.

But the actress - she will be seen in this year's TV series The Politician - has been criticised for a weight loss plan promoted on Goop, created by celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson. One tweet read, "Can't keep up with @goop @GwynethPaltrow @TracyAnderson madness! ZERO evidence to support this diet (science-free bunk), exact wrong message & potentially harmful."
But Tracy does say in the article that the diet plan is only recommended as a short-term method for those with weight to lose.

The site also produces an annual detox guide. When Ana Calderone from People magazine tried the 2019 version, she gave the detox diet plan an 8/10 for degree of difficulty. While Day 1 "was torture" (mainly from caffeine withdrawal) and the plan required a lot of work - and expensive ingredients - by the end Ana lost nearly 1.5kg in five days and was sleeping better and had more energy.

Harper's Bazaar reports on GPs daily diet, according to her Goop podcast.
"On a normal day, I'll have a smoothie for breakfast. I have a pretty healthy lunch, with some protein and salad. And for dinner, I have whatever I want, but I do always try to avoid highly processed foods and high-fructose corn syrup."

The Clean Plate (2019)
The Clean Plate is Gwyneth's most recent offering. She includes 100+ recipes, like Butternut Squash Tacos and Chocolate Chia Pudding, that are supposed to make you healthy as well as happy.
It's All Easy (2016)
In this recipe book, the goodness guru whips up healthy meals that can be put together in under 30 mins. Even though they have little - or no - fat and sugar, she promises they are delicious, as well as nutritious.
In 2016, Kelsey McKinney tried eating from this book for a week. While the recipes required unusual ingredients and a well-equipped kitchen, the did stick to the half-hour prep time and "When she stays in her lane—the fancy rich white lady food lane—Gwyneth Paltrow f--king delivers," Kelsey sums up the recipes in the book.
It's All Good (2013)
In it are some 185 diet book recipes that stick to Gwyneth's doctor's elimination guidelines (as above - no coffee, no alcohol, no dairy, no eggs, no sugar, no shellfish, no deep-water fish, no wheat, no meat, no soy, nothing processed). Eating this way Gwyneth claims helped boost her energy and looks. (Not that she needed much improvement in the looks department!)
My Father's Daughter (2011)
Gwyneth's first cookbook was inspired by her dad, Bruce Paltrow, and includes her favourite recipes for sharing as a family. Her interest in wellbeing was sparked when she found out her beloved father had throat cancer. Now that interest has made her into a business mogul.
Relaxing her standards
While she may have once been a strict near-vegan, in recent years Gwyneth has caved to a broader range of ingredients, including the odd naughty treat.
