He’s admitted to having surgical help to improve his appearance in the past - But Gordon Ramsey’s seems to have turned back the clock with his latest look.
The celebrity chef’s expressive features were nowhere to be seen when he stepped out at Selfridges in London to promote his new book, Bread Street Kitchen, with many fans left baffled by the dramatic transformation.
The passionate TV personality was photographed sporting a deep tan, a smoother complexion and modern up-do hair style. And while it could have simply been the result of flattering lighting or a good makeup artist, there is no denying the 50-year-old is looking more and more youthful as time goes on.
Speaking to Radio Times previously about having work done on his face, the Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares star said: “I’ve got four children, and they’d say: ‘Dad, why have you got so many wrinkles on your face when Cementine’s daddy has no wrinkles?’ The lines were pretty horrific, like Scarface, and I was never embarrassed by it, but my children helped me become more paranoid about it.”
“There’s only so much s*** you want to take,” he continued. “I woke up in the morning and Matilda [daughter] was trying to squeeze pound coins in there.”
One brutally honest makeup artist even asked if the deep crevices in his face were the result of a car accident.
“They said: ‘Oh my god, when did you go through the windscreen?’ You put up with it, but then you get f***ing sick of it,” he said. “I listened to what Simon Cowell said, and he said, ‘Get it done.”
Ramsey’s admission came after a spokesperson for the star denied claims in May 2008 that he had undergone a procedure. When asked to comment on the matter the spokesperson claimed, “Gordon would be the first person to mercilessly take the p*** out of anyone that has had surgery.”
