The Full House star was taken into custody Wednesday morning after evidence came to light that she paid bribes to the University of Southern California in exchange for accepting her two daughters, Isabella and Olivia, as students.
The actress is expected to appear before a federal judge at the District Court in downtown LA later today, per the New York Post.
Loughlin's arrest comes after she openly admitted her girls were feeling pressured academically.
"You know...I never pushed my kids to - I always say, 'Do the best you can'", she told the New York Post in 2017.
Isabella Rose, her eldest daughter, agreed with her mother's point of view in the clip.
California prosecutors revealed plans to indict more than 40 people in relation to the "largest college admissions scam ever".
Loughlin's husband Mossimo Giannulli is also on the authorities' list after the couple paid a reported $500,000 USD to facilitate their girls admission to USC.
Loughlin's rep told Fox News she had no comment.
The actress' arrest comes as fellow TV star Felicity Huffman was photographed looking distressed leaving court for her first judicial appearance in the wake of the scandal.
The Desperate Housewives mainstay allegedly paid $15,000 USD, concealed as a charitable donation, to have someone sit her daughter's SAT exams on her behalf.
