6 Typical French Breakfast Foods

Start your day the French way - by Lottie Dalziel

6 Typical French Breakfast Foods

Q: What is a typical French breakfast?

Typically a french breakfast is very light (say goodbye to eggs, avocado and bacon!) and would consist of a coffee and pastry. Everything on the menu is sweet because the rest of their day is so savoury!

What do French people eat for breakfast?

When it comes to breakfast the French take it easy and eat very little leaving enough room to fill up on rich and savoury lunches and dinners. Most commonly you’ll find bread and coffee, an espresso to be specific.

So now for the specifics, if you want to order breakfast in France, you should request le petit déjeuner, the English translation is “a little lunch”
