AVOID TOO MUCH SALT

Did you know Aussies consume too much salt, which can cause damage to their health and wellbeing?* Common grocery items including processed meats, breakfast cereals, wraps, crispbreads and snacks can contain a lot of salt, so check the nutrition label before you buy and if necessary look for a lower salt alternative.

AIM FOR A BALANCED DIET

It’s easy to keep your salt and artificial preservative intake in check when you stick to a diet of mostly fresh food, and balance your intake of healthy carbs, lean protein and good fats. Before purchasing any product, just check that label to make sure it’s the better choice!

WATCH THOSE ARTIFICIAL PRESERVATIVES

While you’ve got your eyes on the label, it’s also a good idea to check for artificial preservatives. Some common artificial preservatives include 200 (potassium sorbate), 282 (calcium propionate) and 281 (sodium propionate).
