Melbourne is one of the food capitals of Australia and is regarded around the world as being one of the most innovative markets. There are some amazing restaurants in Melbourne and when a special occasion comes around it is often difficult to choose which one!
The Michelin Star system was invented by the Michelin brothers in 1900 in a bid to get more tourists on the road (and using their tyres.) Today the organisation has reviewed over 30,000 restaurants in 30 territories and has sold more than 30 million copies to date.
Sadly, the Michelin Star system is yet to reach Australian shores, but if it were we think that these are the best restaurants in Melbourne.
