That’s right, in a new Christmas decorating trend sweeping Australia, mums are using the water toy to create inspired centrepieces that look like they’re worth hundreds of dollars.

Using the noodle as a base, the Facebook group mums cut it in half lengthways to create a flat base to sit on the table. They then wrap it in tinsel, foliage or even fairy lights and attach decorations using a $5 Kmart hot glue gun. Another variation involves only attaching coloured baubles to the noodle, to create a striking feature.

Said another: ‘My 7 year old & I had such a fun craft day creating this beauty. We used a hot glue gun and a pool noodle cut in half as the base. My kids collected and painted the pine cones.’Love it! For more inspiration, head over to Kmart Mums Australia’s Facebook group!
