Family of two-year-old killed by alligator at Disney world won't sue
The Nebraska parents whose two-year-old son was killed by an alligator at Orlando’s Disney World say they aren’t suing.
Matt and Melissa Graves released a statement saying they know they can never have Lane back, but instead plan to ‘keep his spirit alive through the Lane Thomas Foundation.’
Adding, ‘In addition to the foundation, we will solely be focused on the future health of our family and will not be pursuing a lawsuit against Disney. For now, we continue to ask for privacy as we focus on our family.’
The family was on holiday at Disney World’s Floridian Resort and Spa in June, when their son was dragged into the Seven Seas Lagoon by an alligator.
After more than 15 hours of searching, his body was recovered.
Following the attack, the parents released statement on their church’s website.
'Melissa and I continue to deal with the loss of our beloved boy, Lane, and are overwhelmed with the support and love we have received from family and friends in our community as well as from around the country.'
