Sayonara, Your Highness!
As The Duke and Duchess were no longer considered full-time working Members of The Royal Family, it was agreed they wouldn't use their HRH titles and abandon the Sussex Royal brand.
They will have no office, courtesy of the royals
Harry and Meghan said via a statement their office would have to be closed, given the primary funding mechanism was from HRH The Prince of Wales.
"The Duke and Duchess shared this news with their team personally in January once they knew of the decision, and have worked closely with their staff to ensure a smooth transition for each of them," the statement read.
Goodbye, Commonwealth cash... but dad's bank is always open
As part of becoming financially independent, Harry and Meghan were granted permission to earn their own income as they no longer received funding from the Sovereign Grant.
Time to pay-up!
No more protection...
In line with their request to live as everyday people, Harry and Meghan lost their UK media law protection, which the Royal Family have the privilege of being protected under. Think, paparazzi.
As a result, the US-based Sussexes are now fair game for photographers.
Pay their own way for private security
While it was agreed Harry and Meghan would require security to protect them and their son, they now have to foot their own security bill, which could run into the millions.
"I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom," US president Donald Trump wrote on Twitter, while reminding the couple of their obligation.
"It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada. Now they have left Canada for the U.S. however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!" he added.
The world is their oyster... just at their own cost
Harry and Meghan were privileged to have traveled the world as representatives of the Royal Family - from Australia to Fiji, New Zealand and Africa.
Now that they no longer carry out "official duties" for The Queen or represent The Commonwealth, they'll have to pay for their own private jets and luxury accommodation.
