The Baby-Sitters Club is getting a TV reboot

It has been over thirty years since the Baby-Sitters Club hit bookshelves, and twenty-eight years since HBO revived it with a one-off series and twenty-three years since the film was released.

Now, the 90s classic is getting another remake – a modern-day adaption of the original books.

With big time production company Walden Media, the people behind the adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia and Michael De Luca Productions, the masterminds behind Moneyball, the new series is promising to be everything fans of the books have craved since binge-reading the classics in 1986-2000.

And according The Hollywood Reporter, it will cover ‘topics such as divorce, racism, and inclusivity’ in the main town of Stoneybrook.

Naia Cucukov, Walden Media’s senior vice-president in development and production, said she is looking forward to reliving the club, bringing it up to date with themes our own teens can now relate to and our favourite characters too.

‘As lifelong fans of The Baby-Sitters Club and its enduring messages of entrepreneurialism, empowerment, diversity and most importantly, female friendships, we couldn’t be more thrilled to work on this special project,’ she says.

‘We feel incredibly honored that Ann M. Martin has allowed us the chance to introduce the BSC to a new generation of future thought leaders and influencers.’
