Sunrise co-host Sam Armytage confessed she has been caught texting while driving.
The 42-year-old revealed her misdemeanour during a segment on the popular Channel Seven breakfast program where Sam spoke to guests Mal Lees and Susie O’Brien about a recent incident, which saw Melbourne cops go undercover as windscreen washers to catch drivers on phones.
“Now I have a confession, I’ve been done by this,” she admitted in the video above.
‘They were looking down off an overpass and then pulling you over down the street and they caught me and I was done.
“And do you know what? Never done it again!
“I now hide my phone on the back seat so it’s not a temptation. It works.”
According to reports, Melbourne drivers are furious about the new police tactic, complaining it’s “entrapment”.
However, having been caught herself, Sam says she believes police should do whatever it takes to teach people a lesson.
“Sometimes they’ve got to ping you for you to learn your lesson that driving and using your phone is illegal,” she said.
