She’s never been the jealous type, but Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) has held serious fears for her marriage since Simone (Emily Eskell) began working with Brody (Jackson Heywood) at Salt. And now we see that Ziggy had every reason to be wary of the gorgeous newcomer’s motives!
In an unmissable development that will leave viewers reeling, this week Simone makes her feelings abundantly clear to the married chef.
Earlier in the week, Ziggy decides her best course of action is to keep her “enemies closer” – by spending every spare minute she can at Salt.
“Ziggy really doesn’t get intimidated by many people, but she’s always just had a bad feeling about Simone,” says Sophie.
“I think it’s because this is the first time Brody has shown attention to another woman since Ziggy’s been around, and that has really rocked her.
“It’s come as a very big shock to Ziggy and female instinct has kicked in.”
Meanwhile, Brody – who can’t understand why his wife is being so possessive – is mortified when Ziggy confronts Simone about the fact that she has a photo of herself and Brody as the wallpaper on her phone.
When Brody takes the side of Simone – who insists there is nothing to it – Ziggy is far from impressed.
And Ziggy is even more concerned when Dean (Patrick O’Connor) agrees Simone may well have designs on Brody, after also watching Simone in action at the eatery.
“Dean’s a good solid mate to Ziggy and he comes to his own conclusion,” says Sophie. “He’s the only one except for Ziggy who sees it the way it is.”
With Ziggy and Brody’s relationship on rocky ground, Justin (James Stewart) urges Brody to ensure his wife is his priority. Brody decides to tell Simone she can’t work at Salt.
And it’s at this moment the budding cook makes her move.
