Now 74, Haynes was extradited from the UK in 2017 to face charges of rape, buggery and indecent assault against his daughter, Jennifer, stemming from the 1970s and 1980s.
Jennifer was aged between four and 11 when the crimes occurred.
Judge Huggett described Haynes' abuse as "depraved and abhorrent".
"The psychological manipulation used by the offender, coupled with his escalating violence, served to emphasise and reinforce the power he had over her," she revealed.
Haynes with hit with a non-parole period of 33 years after he had pleaded guilty to 25 offences, including rape and buggery.
Outside of court, an emotional Jennifer discussed the verdict.
"Tell us how you're going?" a reporter quizzed Jennifer.
"Forty-five years, holy s***," she replied.
"I was hoping for 25, so I just got a massive bonus.”
"I'm ecstatic, I could not be happier. I think that the judge was brilliant - she recognised the enormity of what he did and the enormity of the impact, because it's not just me, people who abuse children, the impact they put on that child, goes forever."
"What worried me was that he would get a short non-parole period and I would have to go back to court and do it all over again."
