"Prince Harry’s Mother, Diana Princess Of Wales was one of my dearest friends. I feel a profound sense of obligation to protect Harry and his family from the unnecessary press intrusion that contributed to Diana’s untimely death."
Elton goes on to explain that the private jet he organised for the environmentally friendly couple was carbon neutral.
"After a hectic year continuing their hard work and dedication to charity, David and I wanted the young family to have a private holiday inside the safety and tranquility of our home. To maintain a high level of much-needed protection, we provided them with a private jet flight. To support Prince Harry’s commitment to the environment, we ensured their flight was carbon neutral, by making the appropriate contribution to Carbon Footprint™.
"I highly respect and applaud both Harry and Meghan’s commitment to charity and I’m calling on the press to cease these relentless and untrue assassinations on their character that are spuriously crafted on an almost daily basis."
Last month, Prince Harry, 34, spoke with conservationist Jane Goodall at his Frogrmore Cottage hoome in Windsor, where he revealed that he was "terrified" of the environmental issues facing the planet and the world his son will grow up in.
"What we need to remind everybody is: these are things that are happening now. We are already living in it," the 34-year-old admitted.
“We are the frog in the water and it’s already been brought to the boil. Which is terrifying," Harry continued.
Goodall agreed, responding, “Happening and happened. It is terrifying. Especially as you’ve just had a baby.”
The Duke of Sussex agreed with the 85-year-old, stating, "It does make it different."
Harry also discussed his love for nature and conservation, having travelled far and wide during his life as a royal.
"I think, weirdly because of the people that I’ve met and the places I’ve been fortunate enough to go, I’ve always had a connection and a love of nature."
