Edwina Bartholomew is no stranger to presenting and now the friendly face we usually see on Sunrise is making her way onto a grittier production – as she prepares to host Channel 7's new reality TV show, Australian Spartan.
As the name suggests, the show will be a competition based on obstacle courses. According to The Daily Telegraph, the new program is backed by a big budget which Channel Seven hopes will compete for ratings against its rival Australian Ninja Warrior which proved to be a huge success on Channel 9 this year.
Bartholomew will co-host the show with Hamish McLachlan and the hosts have commenced filming in Brisbane alongside more than 200 crew members working on the team obstacle race.
The journalist who has more than 13 years’ experience to her name, including everything from news segments to sports coverage has made an official statement about her exciting new role.
“Spartan will be next level. The location is incredible; the competitors are world class and the show will be something to behold,” she says. “Expect to see everyone from Olympic and Commonwealth Games athletes, CrossFit champions, marathon runners to workmates and mother’s groups.”
“There is clearly an appetite for good family entertainment,” added Edwina, 34. “This will be a show that everyone can sit down, enjoy and cheer-on their favourite team. It will be incredible to watch.”
