Ahead of Father’s Day, the 61-year-old shared a special message encouraging viewers to “ring your dad.”
Kochie then paid tribute to his “mentor” in a heartbreaking interview.
The TV host admitted that when he lost his father, Dean Koch, a few years ago due to a brain bleed, he “just fell apart."
“One of my great fears is that I’ll forget him - I know I won’t and it’s a stupid thing to even say and consider."
Once the camera panned back to Kochie and the team back in the studio, viewers witnessed the finance guru crying live on-air.
“I was so lucky because my dad and my grandfather were the two heroes in my life,” he said after the interview was aired.
“I feel guilty that I have the life I have and had such great male role models. You see people that don’t and it really does affect their life.”
