Coke Zero will be phased out of Australia from August
Coca-Cola Australia will begin phasing out Coke Zero from August following the successful launch of Coca-Cola no sugar.
Currently, the fizzy drink company has three no-sugar varieties including Diet Coke (launched in 1982), Coke Zero (launched 2006) and Coke No Sugar (launched 2017).
Lucie Austin, Coca-Cola's Australian marketing director, said based on consumer sales it was no longer necessary to carry Coca-Cola Zero in Australia.
Austin said, 'We said that we would let people decide and we are pleased to say the results are in – Australians have decided that Coke No Sugar is it.
'Australians have embraced Coke No Sugar – which from day one was carefully crafted to taste even more like Coca-Cola Classic, but without the sugar.
'It is no surprise that people are preferring it over Coke Zero – just as we have seen where we have launched this new recipe around the world.'
