The couple, who have two young daughters, Darcy, 3 and Matilda, 1, handed over the keys to their shoebox house in a bid to give their children a home they would be proud to grow up in.
However, Claire has since revealed the personal battles she had with anxiety and post-natal depression before appearing on the show.
In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Claire said, “I was always very anxious as a teenager,” before continuing “I thought it was pretty normal and that maybe my hormones were just a bit crazy.”
Claire, 28, also revealed, that she was terrified of being alone for a long time, commenting “I couldn't cope being at home alone and struggled with depression too.'”
The couple ‘s one bed home, which received one of the biggest renovations the show has ever performed, resides on the Mornington Peninsula near Melbourne. The renovation even included adding a whole new level to the home.
Prior to the show, Hagan, 27 described their home as “the ugliest and the cheapest, dirtiest place you can probably buy.” Claire even admitted “There's not a lot of time for romance anymore,” as the whole family used to share just one bed.
Claire and Hagan appeared overcome with emotion when they toured their new home for the first time. Since the renovation, and the addition of an entire new level, the children enjoy their own bedrooms and the couple finally gets some of their privacy back!
