Following her inspiring Golden Globes speech social media flurried with the #Oprah2020 hashtag, which saw many campaigning for the television personality to run for presidency.
However, many can't help but claim Oprah's hypocrisy as her close friendship with disgraced Hollywood director Harvey Weinstein comes to light.
Seal joined the chorus of those branding the star a hypocrite over the situation, posting a meme of of Oprah and Harvey that reads: 'When you have been part of the problem for decades but suddenly they all think you are the solution.'
Along with the image, Seal captioned: 'Oh I forgot, that’s right…you’d heard the [rumors] but you had no idea he was actually serially assaulting young starry-eyed actresses who in turn had no idea what they were getting into. My bad. #SanctimoniousHollywood.'
Chrissy Teigen responded in the image comment section, 'Hmm. Let’s just say we’ve all heard things about each other, haven’t we?'
Seal's denouncement of Oprah comes as actress Kadian Noble alleges Weinstein used Winfrey to help lure her to his hotel room in France, where he allegedly assaulted her. Weinstein has denied these claims.
TMZ also reported that Winfrey had reached out to Weinstein with the promise she'd support him. A rep for Winfrey has since denied these claims, stating: 'Oprah has not spoken to Harvey Weinstein directly. Someone from his team reached out to her to see if she would talk to him, and she said she would if it was for an interview. There are no plans for an interview at this time.'
Neither Oprah or Weinstein have responded to Seal's accusations.
