They’re the couple who fell in love against all the odds on reality TV show Married At First Sight, but since then, Zoe Hendrix and Alex Garner have faced more than their fair share of heartache.
Earlier this year, the pair revealed they were expecting, and on November 14, Zoe, 27, gave birth to a little girl, Harper-Rose. But they admit the 12-hour long labour nearly ended in tragedy.
‘It was touch and go, we were really scared for a minute,’ Alex, 30, solemnly explained to A Current Affair.
‘We did a bit of skin time, for about 10 seconds, and [she was] still not breathing,’ he says.
‘Unfortunately, we had a little bit of an issue where the umbilical cord was wrapped around the baby’s head twice and there was no crying, everybody was rushing around the room.’
