A defiant Princess Mary has decided to shun medical advice in order to fulfil her royal obligations at the Rio Olympics.
Despite warnings against women of child-bearing age travelling to Brazil in light of the Zika outbreak, Her & Nu magazine is reporting Mary and her husband Prince Frederik will press on with their royal duties and attend the Olympic Opening Ceremony on August 5.
‘When I said yes to my wonderful husband, I said yes to that responsibility. I was fully aware of what the role entailed,’ says the Aussie-born princess of her obligations.
While the Olympics hold a special place in Mary and Fred’s hearts – they met in Sydney during the 2000 Games – reports from of Denmark claim that, despite taking Christian and Isabella to the London Olympics, all four of their children will remain at home this time around.
