From the outside it seems like model mum-to-be Lorinska Merrington has everything a girl could want: looks, money and a former AFL player husband.
However, New Idea can reveal the Yummy Mummies star’s relationship with her long-time partner Andrew hasn’t always been smooth sailing.
In fact, the 31‐year‐old confesses the couple made the difficult decision to break up just as both their careers were taking off.
‘When he was in his prime playing at Carlton, I got a contract to model. I focused on that and we broke up,’ she explains. ‘[We] thought if we get back together, then great, and if we stay apart, that’s it.’
Luckily for the now happily-married Lorinska, she never fell out of love with Andrew.
‘Both of us were testing the waters,’ she recalls. ‘And during that time I said to my mum: “I can’t get him out of my head!” I wasn’t giving myself fully to being single or being with anyone else because there was something in the way.’
And after a few months apart, the pair reunited, eventually marrying, and moved their lives to Perth.
‘He got a contract to play in Perth and I got a contract to work with Chadwick Model Management in Perth, and since then it’s been bliss,’ she says.
These days things couldn’t be better for the couple, one of four sets of parents-to-be appearing on Seven’s controversial new reality series Yummy Mummies.
‘He’s ridiculously delicious, I’m just obsessed,’ Lorinska gushes about her husband.
‘He’s super‐sporty and highly intelligent, on the verge of gifted. He’s very smart, he’s a freak!’
The happy duo have been together for more than 10 years and tied the knot in 2015.
