He starred in the 1985 coming-of-age film by John Hughes but The Breakfast Club star’s all grown up now. Would you have recognised him?
Anthony Michael Hall, who played Brian ‘The Brain’, was spotted enjoying lunch in Los Angeles yesterday.
Hall, 49, took some time off shortly after filming the classic film due to problems with alcohol. His issues made headlines with the star admitting, “The truth is, I had my partying nights, but I never really bounced at the bottom. I never went to rehab…I was able to govern myself and continue my work.”
He returned to the screen in the 1990 hit, Edward Scissorhands but this wasn’t the end of the ‘Brat Pack’ member’s woes.
In 1993, Hall agreed to a kissing scene between himself and Will Smith in Six Degrees of Separation. On the day of the shoot however, Smith backed off at the advice of actor Denzel Washington. When asked about the incident during an interview, Hall said, “I didn’t care. I wasn’t that comfortable with it, either, and ultimately, we used a camera trick.”
Despite the squabbles of later years, The Breakfast Club remains a classic.
