Suicide Squad actor Will Smith has landed himself at the centre of a ‘money cover-up scandal’ with a man who is rumoured to be his gay lover.
Radar Online reports Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith helped longtime friend Duane Martin protect his assets after before he filed for bankruptcy with his wife of 20 years, Tisha Campbell-Martin in January.
The trustee believes information regarding a ‘secret deal’ is concealed on Martin’s laptop.
Radar reports: ‘The trustee claimed to have a “strong impression” that the Martins had “not been honest and forthcoming in this case,” and were “seeking to divert property and assets that could prove to be valuable to creditors.”’
The Martins refused to hand over the computer saying it contains ‘personal photos’ and communications with other public figures regarding private, non-financial matters.”
They said they feared ‘the risk of disclosing private information not pertinent to the instant case [that is] highly sought after by tabloid publications.’
The trustee believes, the Martins ‘had been engaged in a large number of businesses and transactions … involving significant amounts of money, loans and transfers” before filing for bankruptcy.’
Will and Jada have not commented on the claims.
Rumours that Will Smith is gay have been running wild since mid-1990s. More recently actress Alexis Arquette made claims the actor and his wife are both gay.
‘When Jada comes out as gay and her beard husband admits his first marriage ended when she walked in to him … then I will listen to them,’ Arquette wrote in a since deleted Facebook post in January, News.com.au reports
Smith married his wife in 1997 and they have two children – Willow Smith, 15, and Jayden Smith, 18 – together.
