Tom Cruise has reportedly missed daughter Suri’s birthday for the fourth year in a row – and the 54-year-old actor STILL refuses to speak of the matter!
According to a sensational report in US publication In Touch, Tom hasn’t seen Suri in over 1,300 days and counting, but thanks to mum Katie Holmes, 38, friends say the youngster ‘has a rich family life thanks to the Holmes clan’.
Tom, who was blindsided by Katie five years ago with divorce papers, hasn’t been seen with Suri since 2013, according to the controversial report. ‘Katie would let Suri see Tom if he wanted to see her,’ an insider tells In Touch. ‘But he hasn’t made a move towards being a physical presence in Suri’s life again.’
Suri celebrated her 11th birthday with Katie on a fun-packed watersports vacation to Miami. ‘Katie’s trying to bring her daughter up in the most responsible and loving way,’ says the magazine’s source. ‘She’s a great mum and Suri remains the most important thing in her life.’
Tom’s religion Scientology is said to be the reason behind his absence, after sources claim Katie’s been branded a ‘suppressive person’ and therefore banned from all contact with its members. ‘He definitely misses Suri,’ says an insider. ‘But he follows Scientology doctrine to the letter and has chosen to move on with his life.’
The reports say Tom’s stuck and can’t give any real reason as to why he’s cut his only biological child out of his life. ‘Image is everything to him and he would look like the worst father in the world if he gave any sort of excuse – like Scientology won’t let him or he’s too busy making action movies to see her.’
Tom Cruise has yet to respond to In Touch‘s allegations at the time of publication.
