Mariah Carey recently called time on her short-lived romance with her back-up dancer Bryan Tanaka.
According to TMZ, the Heartbreaker singer ended their relationship because Tanaka was jealous of her close connection to her ex-husband Nick Cannon, with whom she shares two children with.
The pair got divorced in 2014 but remain on good terms for their sake of their twin children, Moroccan and Monroe, aged six.
The final straw for Tanaka was when Carey walked the red carpet alongside her ex-husband at the Kids’ Choice Awards. Tanaka allegedly felt ‘disrespected’ because of it.
Cannon laughed off rumours he was the reason for the split.
“Most men are jealous of me. I’m joking. But I know nothing about it,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “For me, at the end of the day, she’s an amazing mother and we focus on our kids. That’s never going to change no matter who’s in my life or who’s in her life. We have kids together, so we’ll always be family.”
The 47-year-old began dating Tanaka shortly after she ended her engagement to Aussie billionaire James Packer.
