There has been one notable absence during this awards season – La La Land star Ryan Gosling’s wife Eva Mendes.
The famous actress didn’t make it to any red carpet events, including the Oscars this week, despite her husband being nominated for Best Actor.
What many may not realise is the mum of two has been devastated by the recent loss of her brother.
The notoriously private star’s brother Carlos passed away last year after a long battle with cancer.
It’s understood the Eva was left devastated by his death.
Meanwhile, the 42-year-old is understood to be caring for the couples’ daughters Esmeralda, two, and Amada, who was born last April.
