However, an insider has now revealed to US Weekly that there is nothing sexual going on between the singer and jazz musician, stating that the kiss was part of her act.
“There is nothing to see here. Gaga is a performer, and it was a playful, harmless part of her act.
“She and Brian have had an incredible friendship for years and see each other as family.”

New footage has emerged of Lady Gaga kissing her longtime friend and trumpet player Brian Newman on Saturday.

The New York-born singer – who is the godmother to Brian’s child with wife Angie Pontani – was on stage during her Enigma residency show in Las Vegas when she got up close and personal with the married musician.
In a video shared to Twitter fan account Gaga Daily, the popstar sings “Darling, kiss me” as she leans in to the jazz player who eventually reciprocates with the two locking lips.
Gaga – born Stefani Joanne Germanotta – has been best friends with Newman since before she was famous, People Magazine reports.
Newman was part of Gaga’s band for the critically acclaimed album Cheek to Cheek with Tony Bennett, while Gaga helped him with his 2018 album Showboat in return.
Speaking to Forbes in November, Newman said of the global superstar: “One night after she made her first hit record she came to see us in TriBeCa. We ended up playing Someone to Watch Over Me together, and it was the start of a beautiful musical friendship.
“She’s just a great musician and a great person. The godmother to my child and a beautiful human being.”
Social media users were disturbed by the video, with one woman writing in a tweet: “I know they are friends since forever, but Christ’s sake – he is married! Gaga should behave better.”
Another person said: “Girl! What are you doing??? He’s married and you’re his child’s godmother!”
But some defended the star, noting the kiss happened in the context of a stage performance.
“It’s just a show!” someone wrote. “She knows how to work it – it’s called acting. Married people kiss others all the time in movies, plays, shows etc.”
The shocking footage comes days after Lady Gaga found herself at the centre of controversy over Bradley Cooper’s split from his girlfriend of four years, Russian supermodel Irina Shayk.
The exes are parents to two-year-old daughter Lea De Seine.

Sources told People the ultra-private couple had “drifted apart” when “emotionally absent” Bradley was directing A Star is Born, and had been “living totally separate lives” for a long time.
“If he was in Los Angeles, she’s out of town, and if she was in town, he was out of town,” the insider revealed.
Gaga and Cooper have consistently fueled rumours of an affair after meeting while filming A Star is Born, with speculation reaching fever pitch after their incredibly intimate performance of Shallow at the Oscars in February.
