When country NSW couple Katie and Alex found out they had been accepted on to House Rules, their daughter was just 7 months old.
With filming looming, the 29-year-old stay-at-home mum to then 1-year-old daughter Hallie says she was worried about how she would hold up in such a physical competition.
“After having a baby, I haven’t found my groove because I went straight on the show,” she says.
“After House Rules is finished, I plan to get straight back into it.”

For Katie, it was more her fitness levels rather than her weight which was the issue.
“I was lucky, I think I lost my baby weight in about six days,” she admits.
“Since year 9, I haven’t really changed weight.”
Federal police officer Alex, 32, on the other hand, says he started his House Rules journey in peak physical condition.
“My general rule is I can’t eat anything with preservatives or MSG or anything like that or I get migraines,” he says.
“So, I had to be really careful and it doesn’t leave a lot opportunity for food. I’ve lost about seven kilos during the process.”
