It was the Nine News scandal that quickly became a viral sensation.
Now, the star at the centre of last week’s “jacketgate” controversy has returned to our TV screens. And this time – there was no mistaking her blue outfit for white.
Wearing a striking cobalt coloured ensemble and her hair tousled with soft waves, Julie Snook was at the news desk yesterday to anchor the morning sports update.
Viewers everywhere watched on as the wrap up went off without a hitch, the 29-year-old proceeding to throw back to newsreader Sophie Walsh, who ironically was wearing a white jacket.
Just a day earlier, her Nine News co-star in the leaked video, Amber Sherlock, also made a return to the newsdesk.
The TV reporter also opted away from the colour white, instead choosing a fire-engine red dress to present the weather for Sunday’s 6pm bulletin.
In the leaked footage published by Mumbrella on Thursday, 45-year-old Amber was captured during the ad break of a live cross berating Julie for wearing a similar outfit. The clip has since made international headlines, even being featured in a joke on US talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live!
“I don’t know who decided to release this tape but whoever that was I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Kimmel said before playing the tape to millions of viewers.
